Mt. Gurla Mandata expedition

Mt. Gurla Mandata expedition is popular & challenging expedition in Tibet. Tibet Gurla Mandata expedition  is known as Gurla Mandata climbing offer beautiful Himalayan views including Mt. Holy Kailash , Mt. Everest, Mt. Cho Oyu ,Mt. Lakpa Ri etc, Potala palace , Jhokhang temple , Tibetan monasteries with beautiful landscape.Mount Gurla Mandata (7728m) is the neighboring mountain, which is situated very close by the sacred mountain Kailash. Mt. Gurla Mandata mountain was first climbed by Sino-Japanese expedition in 1985. After that only 5 ascent up there have been made until now to this mountain. Presently according to the recent data, French expedition team has climbed this mountain. The local inhabitants call it the Namo Nanyi meaning "Fairy's Peak".

Gurla Mandhata is made up of six ridges. The climbing is relatively safe with the route crossing the left side of the glacier to reach a plateau under the summit's ridge. From Top of the Gurla Mandata we can see the beautiful of sparking lakes Manasarovar and Rakchays (Demon) tal can be seen along with mountain Kailash on it's back ground.Good physical fitness and climbing skill required for Gurla mandata expedition. Gurla Mandata climbing required minimum six holidays & Spring season is best time for Gurla mandata mountaineering. Gurla Mandata mountaineering begins at Tibet border ( Kodari) after 5-6 hours drive from Kathmandu.

Mt. Gurla Mandata expedition  itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival to Kathmandu. Meet & transfer to hotel. O/N hotel.

Day 02: Free day in Kathmandu, Hotel B/B

Day 03: Free day in Kathmandu, Tibet visa procedure

Day 04: Drive to Zangmu (235cm). Overnight in hotel.

Day 05: Drive to Nyalam. (3750m). Overnight in hotel

Day 06: Nyalam, rest Day and acclimatization

Day 07: Trek to Lake Paiko Tso. Overnight in camp

Day 08: Drive to saga. Overnight in camp

Day 09: Drive to Pariyang. Overnight in camp

Day 10: Drive to Darehen. Overnight in camp.

Day 11: Trek to Dhiraphuk Gompa Overnight in camp.

Day 12: Trek over Drolma Pass to Zutulphuk. Overnight in camp

Day 13: rek to Darche and drive to Mansarovar, Overnight in camp

Day 14: Drive to Gurla Mandara Base Camp

Day 15-32: Climbing Period

Day 33: Cleaning up Base Camp

Day 34: Drive to Pariyang Overnight in camp

Day 35: Drive to Saga. Overnight in camp

Day 36: Drive to Paiko Tso. Overnight in camp

Day 37: Drive to Nyalan Overnight in hotel

Day 38: Drive to Kathmandu Transfer to hotel

Day 39:  After breakfast, Himalaya Journey tour guide will take to for historical monuments sightseeing in kathmandu valley such as Boudhhanath : visit Bodhnath Stupa, one of the best Buddhist shrines in the world, where we observe Buddhist monks in prayer in the monasteries surrounding the stupa than visit Pashupatinath: the most famous Hindu temple in the country, located on the banks of the holy Bagmati River. Here you see Hindu holy men (sadhus) meditating, pilgrims bathing and occasionally funeral pyres burning on the ghats. Kathmandu durbar square: you will enjoy with different Hindus Temple , Goddes Kumari, legend of kathmadu valley etc and in the evening farewell dinner in Nepalese Restaurant, overnight at kathmandu in Hotel.

Day 40: After breakfast, Relaxing/shopping with own activities , Himalaya Journey Treks & Expedition's representative will drop to Kathmandu international airport for onward journeys or if you have time to stay in Nepal will arrange any other trip such as Chitwan Junlge safari tour, Lumbini tour, Chitwan jungle safari tour , river rafting etc.

Expedition Cost Includes:

  • All land transportation by Van, Land Cruiser, Jeep, Hiace or, Mini Bus (Airport/Hotel/Airport & expedition pick up & drop).
  • Accommodation in Kathmandu for 5 nights at bed and breakfast basis.

Expedition Cost Doesn’t Include:

  • Airfare: To & from your country.
  • International airport departure tax.
  • Nepal entry & Re-entry visa fee (can be obtained at the airport upon arrival).
  • Lunch and dinner during your stay in Kathmandu.
  • Hotel after 5 night stay in Kathmandu.
  • Oxygen bottles, mask and regulator for expedition use (Poisk Oxygen System).
  • Personal insurance such as travel, accident, medical, emergency evacuation and lost luggage.
  • Applicable permit fees & customs charges, etc. for SAT phone, Walkie-Talkie communication equipment & commercial filming.
  • Porters and transportation in case of natural calamity.
  • Nepal custom duty charges for import of expedition goods.
  • Extra yaks if required.
  • Expenses of personal nature such as drinks, laundry, postage, telephone etc.
  • Tips and bonuses for staff.

Summit Bonus for climbing Sherpa must pay by Climber: Per Sherpa-USD 500 for over 8000m, USD1000 USD for up to Summit.
